Through Different Eyes - Disc 1 - The Kingdom

Loading the player...

The concept of seeing through different eyes came to me when the Lord challenged me to begin to see things His way...Over the past couple of years I have discovered that everything about the Kingdom of Heaven is a paradox....”The first shall be last, and the last shall be first” , “He who saves his life will lose it, He who loses his life for my sake will find it” etc...

We need to see through different eyes if we are going to come to know Him in the way we need to.... These songs reflect my journey over the past few years, and it is my prayer that as you listen to the message, your eyes will be opened to see in a new and different way....

Lyrics : Through Different Eyes
The time has come to open up my eyes,
The time has come to awake and realize
Things are no longer the same, so I must be willing to change
And let go of all I’ve understood before........
To embrace all that lies beyond the door.

For years I lived with religion as my guide
For years I walked in selfishness and pride
So sure that I knew the way, I couldn’t hear all you had to say
And then You turned my world upside down
Now, in You O Lord I’m found.

Chorus:
I choose to see through different eyes, I choose to be transformed inside
I choose to leave the past behind..... and fly with You.
And as I do I’ll taste and see, things this world can not believe
And I’ll be truly free.......in You.

Circumstances calling out to me
The voice of fear, trying to steal my peace
Still I know if I’m to receive, then I must choose to believe
That everything You’ve ever said is true
And that all my needs O Lord are met in You.

Chorus

The time has come to open up my eyes
The time has come to let my spirit rise
Put aside what I think and feel, and lay hold of what is real
Walking in a world that never ends
Living to never thirst again.

Lyrics : There Once Was A Bakery
There once was a bakery in a far away town
On a cobble-stone road that ran up, and ran down
It had a small little store front, as plain as could be
With a sign that read simply “all samples are free”

As long as one could remember it had always been there
Up, just round the corner, half a block from the square.
And over the years it had garnered much fame
For it seemed that it’s wares healed the blind and the lame

By the thousands they came from miles around
To sample the fare, that had gained such renown
And all who tasted of the bakery’s fare
Went home restored, healed, free from despair

Now you’d think such a place would make everyone glad
But it wasn’t the case, it made some quite mad
The other bakeries were jealous, they wanted the fame
So they decided to go to the king and complain

They crafted a story, and conspired to tell
How the bakery used witchcraft, sorcery and spells
To dupe all the people and make them believe
Their products could heal and set people free.

They accused, and accused, they tried everything
They said that the bakery didn’t worship king
That it preached rebellion, calling all who would come
To enter the Kingdom of the Baker’s own Son.

Enraged then the king sent his men to the town
To kill all the workers, and burn the place down
But when they arrived they just stared at the scene
Of an empty lot where the bakery had been.

Years later a minstrel came to their town
Singing songs of a bakery, it’s fame and renown
He sang how the baking could heal and restore
And the people then knew it had been there before.

When the minstrel stopped singing, there wasn’t a sound
Except the soft muffled sobs, from the people around
For all who had heard the songs he had sung
Knew then that God’s Kingdom and the bakery were one.

There once was a bakery in a far away town
On a cobble-stone road that ran, and ran down
It had a small little store front, as plain as could be
With a sign that read simply “all samples are free.

Lyrics : The Wonderful World Of Oneness
On a dark empty highway, in the heat of the night
I was looking for answers, cause something just wasn’t right
All that I had believed in had come tumbling down
My heart was heavy and my mind was numb, but there was no relief to be found.

Then He stood right beside me, came from who knows where
He was wearing those long-flowing robes, and He had the long hair
Wasn’t sure what was happening, thought it might be a dream
I turned around to walk away when I heard Him say to me....

Chorus:
Welcome to the wonderful world of oneness
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place) to be
Plenty of room in the wonderful world of oneness
Won’t you come and be (won’t you come and be) join the unity.

In this world there’s no judgment, in this world there’s no pain
Everyone is unique and special, no one is the same
So there’s no need for conforming, just be who you are
And you’ll discover if you’ll walk with me, I will heal your heart.

Then He left me to ponder, all He’d said to me
And I began to wonder, could I really be free
As I stood there in silence, the night became like the day
There were voices calling out to me, I’m sure I heard them say...

Chorus:
Welcome to the wonderful world of oneness
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place) to be
Living in peace in the wonderful world of oneness
Won’t you come and be (won’t you come and be) He is all you need.

Then I knew without question, I had a choice to make
I could simply continue on, living my own way
Or I could make the decision to let go of the past
Accept the invitation to a peace that would last.

Next thing I remember I was walking through the door
And suddenly the hurt and pain didn’t matter anymore
So glad you could join us, He said I want you to know
No matter what tomorrow brings, I’ll never let you go....

Chorus:
Welcome to the wonderful world of oneness
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place) to be
Forever renewed in the wonderful world of oneness
You will always be (you will always be) forever free..
You will always be......

Lyrics : "O Taste And See"
The Kingdom’s like a bakery, full of good things to eat
Cookies, pastries, cakes of all kinds, always fresh and sweet.
The Owner works in the kitchen, His Son stands in the door
While His servants hand out samples telling the wonders of the store.

Early every morning while the sun is on the rise
He can be seen there in the doorway, light shining in His eyes
You can smell the sweet aroma, of the pastries as they bake
You can hear His servants calling out, and this is what they say..

Chorus:
“O taste and see  that the Lord is good”
O taste and see,  try heavens food
All you’ll ever want, all you’ll ever need
Yours today.....O taste and see

Now some who try the samples, just turn and walk away
While others who receive them, return day after day
You see, the more you taste the baking, the more that you can see
And the more you see, the more you find it’s where you want to be.

Chorus

Now the wonders of the Bakery, words will never fully tell
The cookies, cakes, and pastries, one must never sell
You see the purpose of the Bakery, is to reveal the Baker’s love
And the purpose of the samples is to lead you to His Son....

Lyrics : I Want To LIve In The Kingdom Of God
Chorus:
I want to live in the Kingdom of God, not in the realm of this world
For here there is sickness, here there is pain, fussing and fighting for riches and fame
But there, there is peace, there, there is health, joy unspeakable wholeness and wealth
I want to live in the Kingdom of God, not in the realm of this world.

The Kingdom of God is among us, the Kingdom of God is near
And though we can’t see it, touch or feel it, the Kingdom of God is here
And all who have come to know Jesus, have entered this Kingdom of light
But what I can’t see, is once they are free, some still choose to live in the night.

Chorus

The Kingdom of God is eternal, the Kingdom of God cannot change
And for those who will seek it, and above all embrace it, His blessings will come their way.
But the Kingdom is not for cowards, or for those who don’t want to fight
For it’s advancing each day, through the power of His Name, tearing down the strongholds of night.

Chorus

If we’re going to live in the Kingdom, there are choices we’ll have to make
We must trust and believe, when we can’t feel or see, and love, when we want to hate.
So let’s fix our eyes upon Jesus, the perfecter of our faith
And as we heed and obey all that He has to say, we’ll walk in the Kingdom each day.

Chorus

Lyrics : The Kingdom Of Heaven
The Kingdom of heaven’s like a mustard seed, planted in the ground
Yet that which is the smallest of seeds, becomes the largest plant around.
The Kingdom of heaven’s like a little yeast, placed within a bowl
And when that yeast is mixed with the flour, it spreads throughout the dough.

Chorus:
The Kingdom of heaven is a mystery, the world will never understand
For the ways of God have always been, foolish in the eyes of man.
No, the Kingdom of heaven is not like the world, it’s different in every way
For the first shall be last, and the last shall be first, but everyone’s the same.

The Kingdom of heaven’s like a treasure chest, hidden in a field
When found, the man sold all that he had, to obtain what had been concealed
Again, the Kingdom of heaven’s like, a merchant looking for fine pearls
When he found “the one” he sold all that he had, to him it was worth the world.

Chorus:

Now the Kingdom of heaven is there to be found by those who have eyes to see
Those who will seek, and those who will hear, will be those who will perceive.
Yes the Kingdom of heaven belongs to those who will reach out and receive
Who will humble themselves, come as a child, and simply just believe.

Lyrics : The Soils Of The Heart
What is the Kingdom of Heaven like, to what can it be compared?
To a farmer who went out to sow his seeds, spreading them everywhere.
And as he scattered the seeds some of them fell...along the path,
Where the birds came down and ate them all up, the seeds never had a chance.

Chorus:
Is your heart like the soil that lies along the path,
Rough and hard, and beaten down by all the hurts and pains of the past?
Cause if your heart is like the soil that lies along the path,
You won’t receive His Word even though you’ve heard He gives life to those who ask.

What is the Kingdom of Heaven like, to what can it be compared?
To a farmer who went out to sow his seeds, spreading them everywhere.
And as he scattered the seeds some of them fell...on the rocky ground,
where they sprang up fast, but couldn’t last when the heat began to come down.

Chorus:
Is you heart like the soil that lies on the rocky ground,
that responds to the Word, only to turn when trials come around?
Cause if your heart is like the soil that lies on the rocky ground
you’ll never see a victory because you just won’t stand your ground.

What is the Kingdom of Heaven like, to what can it be compared?
To a farmer who went out to sow his seeds, spreading them everywhere.
And as he scattered the seeds some of them fell...among the weeds, and the thorns
And though the roots went deep, they were choked by the weeds and the fruit was never formed.

Chorus:
Is your heart like the soil that lies among the weeds and thorns,
open to the Word of God, yet still ruled by the cares of this world?
Cause if your heart is like the soil that lies among the weeds and thorns
you’ll never see through all He wants you to do, because your loyalty is torn.

What is the Kingdom of Heaven like, to what can it be compared?
To a farmer who went out to sow his seeds, spreading them everywhere.
And as he scattered the seeds some of them fell on the rich soil of the field
where the roots went down deep into the ground, and a hundred-fold was the yield.

Chorus:
Is your heart like the soil that lies in the open field
soft, and moist, a premium choice, through which His Word can be revealed?
Cause if your heart is like the soil that lies in the open field
you’ll always produce abundant fruit, and His love will always be your shield.

This is what the Kingdom of Heaven’s like, it’s this and so much more.
So open your life, open your heart to the Spirit of the Lord.
He will come in a break up the solid ground, remove all the rocks and the thorns,
And in His time you’ll be refined, and you’ll see your life transformed.

Chorus:
May your heart be like the soil that lies in the open field.
May it be soft and moist, a premium choice, through which His Word can be revealed.
May your heart be like the soil that lies in the open field
May you always produce abundant fruit, and may His love always be your shield.

Lyrics : Thy Kingdom Come
Back in the beginning, the Kingdom was on the earth
In the garden of Eden, all was right and pure
But that was changed in a moments time when Adam disobeyed
The blessing then became the curse, as the Kingdom went away.

Four thousand years came and went, as God reached out to man
Making covenant with people like Moses, and Abraham
Through the strife and through the struggle, He only had one aim
To get His Son into the earth, and bring the Kingdom back again

Chorus:
“Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”
This has been the Father’s heart since man walked in the garden
Though centuries have disappeared, the cry remains the same
“Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,” till Jesus comes to reign.

Jesus came to re-establish Heaven’s Kingdom here on earth
The Son of God incarnate, in humility, came to serve
Through everything He said and did, the Kingdom He displayed
And through His death, and resurrection, He opened up the way.

In an upper room at Pentecost, as the believers knelt in prayer
Holy Spirit in a rushing wind, came and met them there
The Kingdom was imparted, as He came to dwell within
And all were changed in a moments time, and were never the same again.

Chorus

Signs and wonders followed everywhere the Word went forth
So the Kingdom was expanded to the west, south, east, and north
But persecution followed striking the believers down
And as the spirit of religion rose, the Kingdom went underground.

Through the centuries that followed, though all looked dark and bleak
The Kingdom was still active, bringing hope to all who’d seek
Forcefully advancing as the martyrs took their stand
The Kingdom’s light once more began to spread  across the land.

Chorus

Revivals came, and revivals went, truth slowly was restored
And the eyes of many people were opened to the Lord
The Kingdom grew in number as more people began to see
The light of revelation, the truth that makes men free

We stand now at the threshold of the Kingdom’s greatest hour
The Lord is calling forth a remnant who will show forth His power
They will raise up His standard, and all the world will see
The Kingdom come in glory and fulfill it’s destiny...

Chorus

Lyrics : Live From The Inside Out
Raised in the valley of the shadow of death, our hearts were trained to fear
Though we want to believe what the Father says, we’re still moved by what we see and hear
But the Kingdom doesn’t come through observation, for the Kingdom lies within
So we must renew our minds to what He’s saying, We must renew our minds to Him.

Chorus:
:Live from the inside out, not from the outside in
Live from the inside out, it’s where life truly begins
Every trial and circumstance, fades in the light of Him...so
Live from the inside out, not the outside in.

By His power He has given us, through the knowledge of Him
Everything for life and godliness, everything we need to live
Such great and precious promises He’s granted, so we could walk in the Kingdom with Him
And participate in His divine nature, escaping the corruption of sin.

Chorus

So with the dawn of each new day, we have a choice to make
We can live by what we feel and see, or what the Father has to say
And the Kingdom doesn’t come through observation, for the Kingdom lies within us
And if everything we need’s at our disposal, then we just have to learn to trust.

Lyrics : The Keys Of The Kingdom
The Keys of the Kingdom have been given to us
The Keys of the Kingdom have been given in trust
Faith, Hope and Love, these are the three
Everything turns on these Master Keys.

Love only flows when we are in Him
Love is of God, for that’s who He is
Love goes ahead and opens the way
For Hope to spring up, and Faith to obey.

Hope paints the picture of what Love has shown
Then nurtures the image until it has grown
With great expectation, it lifts up it’s eyes
And patiently waits for faith to arise.

Faith is the action that stands and declares
With confident assurance what Hope has laid bare
It speaks with authority, from above
Faith manifests Hope, Hope manifests Love

The Keys of the Kingdom are many it’s true
Repentance, Worship and prayer are a few
Now all are important, and all have their place
But all are subject to Love, Hope, and Faith.

The Keys of the Kingdom have been given to us
The Keys of the Kingdom have been given in trust
Faith, Hope and Love, these are the three
Everything turns on these Master Keys.

Lyrics : Open Up Our Eyes
We talk about Your love O Lord as if we really knew
We talk about Your miracles, and all the things You do.
We speak of things we do not know, as if ourselves we’d seen
We’ve made You in our image Lord, we have been deceived

“Be holy as I am holy” Your Word rings loud and clear
Still our actions we explain away, because we have no fear
We presume upon Your love, and think because of grace
We can do the things we please, and You’ll look the other way.

Chorus:
Open up our eyes, we need Your fear O Lord
Open up our eyes, come and shake us to the core
We’ve taken You for granted in our complacency
Open up our eyes Lord, to Your Awesome Majesty

Whatever can be shaken will be shaken, You’ve said
So the things that can’t be shaken, will remain instead.
You’ve prepared for us a Kingdom, that even now is here
But one we’ll never enter without a reverent fear.

 Chorus

Br:May we love the things You love, and hate the things You hate
May we learn to tremble at Your Word, before it’s too late
O all Consuming Fire, come lay bare our hearts
Confront us with Your Holiness, don’t leave us as we are.

Chorus

Lyrics : Humility
Two men went up to the Temple to pray, one day
One, a tax collector, a thief in many ways
The other was a Pharisee, a teacher of the Law
Two men went up to the Temple to stand before their God.

Now the Pharisee stood up, and spoke about himself
He said “I thank you Lord, my God, I’m not like anybody else
A robber, an evildoer, like that tax collector there
I fast twice a week, and I  give more than my share.”

When the tax collector spoke, he wouldn’t even raise his head
He stood at a distance and just beat upon his breast... he said
“Have mercy on me a sinner, forgive me Lord I pray”
And the tax collector, not the Pharisee was justified that day...for

Chorus:
He who humbles himself will be exalted
He who exalts himself will surely be put down
God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble
So that those who are lost may be found.

So when you stand before the Lord, be careful how you pray
He is not impressed by man’s religious ways
You see, God looks on the heart, there’s nothing you can hide
What you might think is humility, may be arrogance disguised....and

Lyrics : Surrender
Introduction:
I surrender all. I surrender all.
All to Thee my blessed Saviour, I surrender all.

To surrender in life is to lose, to surrender in Christ is to win
The ways of the world are upside down to the ways of the Kingdom of Heaven
We’ve been taught to be self-sufficient, to rely on our talents and strength
But try as we may, the results are the same, as history recounts at length.

Kingdom’s have risen, only to fall, as their power waxed and waned
Emperors, presidents, kings of old, have gone in manner the same
It happens over and over again, and still we fail to see
Until we come to the end of ourselves, and surrender we’ll never be free....

Chorus:
I surrender all, I surrender all,
I lay my life at your feet
I surrender all, I surrender all,
I surrender all of me

How many times have we tried to change, just to fall again, and again
And then hear the voice of condemnation, telling us we’ll never win
But what’s impossible for us to achieve, in Christ, is possible for all who believe
For His power is perfected in the weakness of those who humble themselves at His feet

Chorus

To surrender in life is to lose, to surrender in Christ is to win
And it’s only as we learn to abide in Him, that we have anything to give
If we’ll surrender to Jesus each day, His Spirit will change us within
And then all that we have, and all that we are... will be found in Him.

Chorus

Lyrics : Holiness
How can we enter the Kingdom, unless we’re first set apart
How can we enter His throne room, when self still rules in our heart
Unless we are converted, unless we are conformed
To the character of Jesus, we won’t see the Lord

Chorus
Without Holiness, no one will see the Lord
Without Holiness, we’ll fail to heed the Word
Without Holiness, we won’t do our part
Without Holiness, we’ll be left out in the dark.

How can we think He understands when we choose to sin each day
How can we think ‘because we’re saved’ that He’ll look the other way
We’re living in deception, if this is how we see
And if we don’t awake to the truth, He’ll say depart from Me

Chorus

How can we say we love Him, and choose not to obey
How can we say we know Him, and not walk in His ways
We need a revelation, of the fear of the Lord today
Our foundation must be shaken, if we’re going to find the way

Bridge:
“Be holy as I am holy” the Word rings loud and clear
But will we choose to listen? will we choose to fear?

Chorus

Lyrics : Kingdom Child
For years I was lost, but now I am found
What was once sinking sand, is now solid ground
For into my world of darkness, and pain
Came the love of the Saviour to light up the way

For years I was blind, but now I can see
Where once I was bound, now I am free
For into my world of confusion and fear
Came the truth of His Word, to make everything clear

Chorus:
I’m a Kingdom child, ho-ly and pure
I’m a Kingdom child, and I know this for sure
I’ve been redeemed by the Lamb’s precious blood
I’m a Kingdom child, a joint heir with the Son

The Lord is my Rock, and my Destiny
I know who I am, and who He is in me
And into my world He pours mercy and grace
Complete in His love, I now take my place.

Chorus

Lyrics : You Are Loved
As you travel on life's journey, as you search for what is true
Understand there is another, who is watching over you
One who knows you better than you even know yourself
One who loves you more than anybody else.

You’ve come through many trials, many struggles, many storms
And I know at times you’ve wondered why you were even born.
Yet even in the darkness, He was standing by your side
You need to know you’re special, precious in His sight.

Chorus:
You are loved, forever you are loved
You are always in the heart of your Father up above
Now life can be unfriendly, and storms will always come
But they will never change the fact that you are loved,
No they can never change the fact that you are loved.

Now this life that you've been given will see sunshine, will see rain
And every season has a purpose, though not all can be explained.
But always remember, He's the One you’re living for
When the storm clouds gather, fix your eyes upon the Lord.

Chorus

So, as you travel on life's journey, this is my prayer for you
May the eyes of your heart be opened to the One who makes you new
May you come to know Him like you’ve never known before
May hope arise within your heart, to show there’s so much more.
